Located just 120 miles outside of the famous city of Los Angeles, San Diego has a population of nearly 1,381,000 residents. San Diego’s population is distributed into its 52 Community Planned Areas which includes over 100 distinct neighborhoods. Downtown San Diego is the most populated area in the city and is known for its pristine views of the San Diego Bay, its lively and vibrant communities, and its gorgeous sunset views. One of the best places to capture the most spectacular sunset view is in a community called Sunset Cliffs.
Sunset Cliffs community is located south of La Jolla, west of El Cajon, north of Point Loma and east of the San Diego Bay. Originally Sunset Cliffs were first established as a small park with bridges, trails, and benches by Albert Spaulding in 1915 but the land was only really developed about ten years after Spaulding by a man named John P. Mills. Mills tried to save much of Spaulding's works but in time the region that Spaulding has first molded was bought by the city of San Diego and demolished to be later resculpted into a park. Mills, however, did develop the area surrounding the small cliffed park and named it after Spaulding’s Sunset Cliffs tribute.
Today Sunset Cliffs community consists of a stunning park and small residential area including tree-lined streets, Craftsman homes and close by schools. Walking through the neighborhood of Sunset Park you will find well-manicured lawns, friendly neighbors, and quaint homes. Homes in Sunset Cliffs come in a variety of styles including Mediterranean-Rivals and traditional single family homes. Homes in Sunset Cliffs vary in prices depending on architectural style, age, location, and special features.
